Something as simple as alteration out the ablution attic asphalt will move your old and anachronous allowance into a new age. Best of all, this is a activity that is affordable and with a little expertise, simple to do. Years ago, to asphalt over sub attic was a nuisance. You had to adapt the attic with mud, which has now been replaced by the new adjustment of application adhesive advocate board. This is in fact absolutely inexpensive, active about $10 for a one-half inch blubbery section that is 355-square feet.

Additionally, this actual is simple to cut and install, and works able-bodied with a lot of types of installation. Although you will apparently get a lot of admonition on the best way to achieve this, the best bet is to abolish any old attic to accomplish abiding the sub attic is in acceptable condition. After all, if there has been any baptize arising over the years, affairs are it needs to be repaired or replaced. However, if the sub attic were in acceptable condition, again you would use corrosion-resistant screws, drive them into the plywood, and down into the attic joists. This provides a close foundation for the asphalt that you will be using.

If there are any grooves or unleveled spots on the floor, you can ample them with a failing gypsum-leveling compound. You will charge to basic the attic but the aftereffect will be that the asphalt will not able from the uneven flooring. For the project, you will charge fasteners, mortar, and collective band and be abiding you break abroad from drywall screws! Additionally, to avoid having grout in the capricious areas, you wish to use just a few chaplet of acrylic barricade so the collective stays flexible.

The lack of ample space in a flat need not be a hindrance to those seeking to create different “rooms” in their home. With the help of dividers in the form of display shelves, screen, bamboo blinds, wooden walls etc or even wardrobes to demarcate areas for family members in the same room, you can now have separate corners. Our designer shows four ways of dividing your rooms and also how you can replace walls and doors provided for in the original design of the flat. In bedroom! Wicker shelves like these which are available at most cane shops may be used to divide the slipping area from a reading or telephone corner. A sunny combination of yellow and white makes this bedroom very cheerful. Mosquito netting inject a tropical flavor to the room. Intricate cane sprayed white is an elegant touch.

The master bedroom is a picture of elegance; well-tended plants make it friendlier, white and yellow make a bright. A section of the master bedroom shows a comfortable seating area, luxurious and very attractive. Inject plant life into a bigger living area like the one in a HUDC flat with chrome rod dividers for plant to creep round and a compact chipboard box for the rods to rest in between living and dining areas. For privacy in the room for two children, place a wardrobe with display shelves in teak ply which can serve both as partition and storage unit.

It is a home with a lot of character – one that certainly “looks after” the people living in it. As much he can, he avoids items that are difficult to maintain. For furniture – he prefers a style designed along slim, elegant lines. For his living room, he has selected an Italian, classical-inspired design which complements the contemporary setting. Interesting is Diego’s idea of placing his furniture pieces at sight angles to the walls. “in this the way the decor looks pleasing from every position you view it,” Diego’s explain. He opts for soothing colors that result in a cozy atmosphere. “I don’t like white because I feel it is very harsh and color which reminds me of hospitals,” said Diego.

Cream, however, he feels is different. It has a soft quality which is both cooling and relaxing. Home for his own should always have a light, bright and air atmosphere. In fact this was one of the things that attracted him to the apartment. He also likes the apartment because of its very modern lines. He has a fascination for all things contemporary. Even where art is concerned, he prefers modern forms to antiques. Exquisitely designed crystal-ware, silverware and porcelain are among some of the most valued collections. These have been amassed from all over the world. Another collection which Diego takes great pride in is his music albums. He enjoys listening to all the latest songs. His favorite singer includes the Air supply, Kenny Rogers and Diana Ross. A sunken portion of the living room has been converted into a “music den”. There is a built-in shelf just below the windows where he stores his impressive record collection.

This handsome plant can be used as an avenue or specimen tree or it can be pruned or pinched back to shrub size and planted in a patio, near an entryway or as a screen. It readily adjusts to container life, and is equally at ease indoors and grown by cuttings or seeds in early spring. Group planting of Umbrella Sedge will give feature and variety of form in a modern landscape. Perennial evergreen member’s of the grass family. These vary in height from 50 cm-1 m and spread 30-50 cm. upright, bare. Slender stems are crowned with strap-like bright green leaves, radiating like umbrella ribs. Small greenish brown flower spike lets appear among the foliage. Hard in cool to subtropical regions, given at least half a day sunlight’s and shelter from strong wind. Plants can yellow off in cold months.

Moisture-loving plants by nature. The umbrella sedges grow happily at the edges of pools. Ponds or streams with their roots submerged in water. They also do well in average garden conditions like as in rock, pebble or Japanese garden around the base of a bird baths, in pots or planter boxes. Easily to grown dwarfs. Often self sown, they have few demands once established: apart from removal of dead or broken stems. When plants become too large or jaded, divide, discards centers, and replant healthy outer divisions in spring. Water well until re-established.

Home’s done for a taste and lifestyle of a couple’s. A spacious living room was high on the list of priorities and so Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lau decided on one bedroom less in their five-room flat in view. The wall separating the living room and one bedroom was torn down to “open” the living room – more emphasis placed here since more time is spent in the area. An open kitchen further contributed to the feeling of spaciousness. Because the couple entertains a lot, a bar was included. Wall-to-wall carpeting was a practical choice as it would help cushion their young child’s falls. A generous living area it has been restructured. This leaves lots of play area for the child. A lively room with dominant yellow shades makes charming views. Practical sunshades were preferred instead of curtains and deep brown louvered furniture is a stark contrast to the yellow.

The couple chose to bring nature closer with a landscaped corner in their high-rise flat. The absence of ceiling-high cabinets and the cheerful yellow give a bright and airy ambiance to the kitchen and an interesting accent to the living room is this glass wall. The metal bar blends well with the rest of the elegant surroundings. Handsome antiques dress up this section of the house. Rich red tones add warmth to the den. Big plump sofas make comfortable seating in the music room and brightly-lit glass cabinets are the focus of attention here. Preparation of meals becomes easier in this well-planned kitchen. Wooden beams add interest to the ceiling of this room, even the attic of the house is fully utilized.

It has just been a “bit altered” to suit the lifestyle of the young couple who now own it. The present owners’ favorite possessions and new inherited antiques have been delightfully combined. The painting on the facade enlivens the lines following an art deco style. The living room by the main entrance is on a mezzanine level. The basement serves as the wife’s studio. She is an interior decorator. The homeowner used all their favorite objects, combining them in an utterly relaxed fashion. Note the Indian baskets that serve as coffee and side-tables. The table and chairs have a simple, clean line and are made of massive wood; an antique desk and a small dresser are also included. Beaded hanging-partition and the floor combine two different kinds of wood.

A covered terrace has been turned into the main drawing-room. The windows overlook the garden. The armchairs have gay printed cushions. Under the window, canoe has been converted into a sofa. The master bedroom follows the same casual style. The mattress is placed over a carpeted platform. The night-tables have been made from plain boxes. Batik panels were all made by the owner. Candle lamps, and flowers combine to suffuse the dining room with a warm glow. In the foreground a touch a color comes from the red candles and runner. The embroidered wall hanging was created by the lady of the house.

Occasional pruning checks excessive growth and encourages base growth, and old leggy bushes that have become ungainly may be rejuvenated by cuttings back to 30-60 cm above ground level. Readily propagated, cutting the stems in late autumn and winter. Various variegated forms may be sold under this name, some more colorful than others. Leaf color will remain the same throughout the plant’s life. A good-looking foliage tree or shrub, the Butter Knife Bush (Cunonia capensis) gives continual interest in an outdoor or indoor location. An evergreen ranging from 2-8 m in height and 1.5-4 m across, this multi-branched plant has claret colored twigs and branches.

Flat, erect, lime green stipules, resembling butter knives, appear throughout the warmer months; these open to reveal a pair of small light green leaflets, tinged bronze, which mature into large dark green leaves. Masses of cream spikes of blooms cover the Butter Knife Bush in late summer and autumn. These are followed by brown berries. A very hardy plants for temperate to warm temperate areas. It will grow in any reasonable soil in sun or shade, and tolerates dry or cool conditions but not severe frost. In harsh situations it will remain a small shrub but given good soil and regular moisture the Butter Knife Bush will rapidly grow into a tree.

Trees and shrubs with attractive variegated leaves or in color other than green make satisfying (and permanent) focal points of interest, while the infinite range of green foliage plants can be used to create a particular background or frame. Top marks to the shade-loving Gold Dust Tree (Aucuba japonica Variegate) for year-round showy foliage and the ease with which it can be grown. This indispensable shrub grows into a bushy.
Female plants will bear clusters of red berries during winter if a male plant is grown nearby. A shrub for temperate and semi-tropical climates, the Gold Dust Tree does best in well drained, fertile soil, given moderate watering during the growing season. It has good frost resistance. Choose a position on shade, or semi-shade, as the leaves become scorched or bleached in hot sunlight. Seen to best advantage as mass planting; as screen; under large trees, or as contrast to dark surfaces of buildings or fences; and it adapts well with other foliage or flowering plants.

The bedrooms are on the second floor. The master bedroom is charming with plants providing a refreshing touch. Windows open out onto a balcony where one can enjoy the fresh air and the wonderful view. The son’s room reflects various hobbies. Mr. and Mrs. Fuji allowed him to decorate the room the way he pleased so that he is able to feel comfortable in it. A huge flag of the United States makes a striking wall hanging. The hi-fi set and electric guitar reflect his interest in music; no secret is the fact that he is an avid Michael Jackson fan.

The waiting area it’s decorated to circular shape eliminates the feeling of narrow confinement. Note the ceiling – a series of concentric rings. Incandescent lighting heightens the effect. The center of the ceiling does not coincide with that of the waiting area. This is to create a sense of movement towards the reception cum dispensary counter. The office of one of the doctor’s notices how the ceiling “spills” into it for a sense of continuity between the outer and inner areas. Soothing cream and beige are the color choices for the living room. Note the wall feature with its interesting geometric design. By placing a shelf here, a little entrance way has been created. Pot plants and hanging lamps brighten up the picture.
